Oxygen Bar

You'll have encountered an oxygen bar on a visit to the mall, or maybe in another place – but what’s the effect these strange but interesting establishments? Are oxygen bars safe to use? Do they need any health benefits?

What is an Oxygen Bar?

An oxygen bar maybe a bar that serves purified oxygen to customers through plastic tubes inserted into nostrils. The oxygen is typically infused with different scents, providing ranging benefits. The purified oxygen on offer at these bars is usually advertised as being 95% oxygen. However, this will depend upon the various filter equipment used and therefore the flow.

Benefits of Oxygen Bars

There are many claims that oxygen therapy can help to alleviate stress, boost energy levels, and even has the potential to cure hangovers! There isn’t an excellent deal of evidence to copy these statements, though.

Oxygen bars claim that inhaling purified oxygen offers the subsequent benefits:
  1. Improved mood
  2. Increased energy levels
  3. Improved focus and concentration
  4. Improved sports performance
  5. Lowers stress levels
  6. Can provide pain relief from migraines and headaches
  7. Can help to market better quality sleep

Oxygen Bars Safe to Use?

There isn’t an incredible amount of research on oxygen bars and their full effects, so it isn’t entirely clear how effective they're, or what the risks are. The scents that are often utilized in oxygen bars raise concerns due to the consequences they will have. The scents that are used are typically delivered by bubbling the oxygen through a liquid that contains either a good-grade additive or volatile oil. Inhaling any oily substance isn't recommended because it can cause inflammation of the lungs, otherwise referred to as ‘lipoid pneumonia.’

So, if you’re curious about an oxygen infusion, skip any scents and go pure.
